Axtell...we take 3rd!

Andrew got a third and Alec a fourth! Hot Damn!! We are doing fine!

Cambridge finished third and had the most champions, three, while S-E-M finished fourth with six wrestlers in the finals. The only Mustang to win a gold medal was John Frerichs at 145 pounds. In the finals, he pinned his younger brother, Calvin, who was technically competing unattached.

The wrestlers took FIRST in the Elwood tourney! There were 10 teams competing. Alec came away with a second place, Anthony, a second, Kalen and Carson both a first and Catlin and Cody got first. Don't remember when we last won an entire meet!! We had a long and exciting 8 hours at the meet...8* This is what we call bleacher butt syndrome to the max. Next meet is Friday and we travel to Sargent. Not sure yet how far that is but I would guess an entire day gone with the wind. Our Christmas party is the next night. Should be good.

Thinking of Wattles and Such

What a name. Don't even have to think about what that might entail. I mean...just say it...W A T T L E. You can see the shaking quivering bag of flesh without knowing what the definition is. I keep thinking of my arms. and my Grandmas arms...sigh. That isn't nice but I do think of her arms. She had big arms and they were soft and a little bit...well...shaky...wiggly you might say. But all the better to hug you and make you homemade bread and stir the soup pot with and who cares about a little wattle anyways...!

Cedar Catholic stuns Cambridge in semi

By the Sioux City Journal | Posted: Tuesday, November 17, 2009 7:10 pm

HARTINGTON — Hartington Cedar Catholic scored two touchdowns in the final 2 minutes, 16 seconds, including the game-winning score with 0.6 seconds left, as the fourth-ranked Trojans rallied to beat Cambridge 26-20 in the Class C-2 semifinals on Tuesday.

Senior quarterback Justin Leise hit classmate Cody Klug seven times for a C-2 state playoff record 208 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner. The previous record was 206 yards set by Matt Davison of Tecumseh in 1996 against Hebron.

Klug broke free from a would-be tackler at the 20-yard-line and raced to the end zone, completing a play that covered 39 yards.

“He made a great spin move and got around the defenders,” Leise said.

Cedar Catholic senior Chad Koch was limited to 97 yards on 29 carries but did score from the 2 with 2:16 to play, capping a 16-play, 73-yard drive aided by a pass interference penalty.

After the Trojans tied the game on Koch’s two-point conversion scamper, Cedar Catholic (10-2) forced a three-and-out and took possession at its 34 with 30.8 seconds left.

Koch gained 11 yards on first down before Leise hooked up with Klug for 16 more, setting Cedar Catholic up for the last-second heroics.

Unranked Cambridge (8-4) dominated the first half, taking a 13-0 lead while outgaining Cedar Catholic 203-58. But the Trojans rolled up 270 yards of offense in the second half.

Leise passed for a season-high 230 yards. Gus Peterson rushed for 148 to lead Cambridge.

Bawls and Blueberry Poptarts!

[caption id="attachment_1888" align="alignleft" width="160" caption="Bawls"]Bawls[/caption]

And I'm watching a documentary on bird migration called, oddly, Winged Migration.  Doesn't

[caption id="attachment_1889" align="alignright" width="160" caption="Blueberry Poptarts"]Blueberry Poptarts[/caption]

that just sound like the total package?  I mean lets talk health spa breakfast here.   I just saw a grouse and holy moses I didn't know they spread out their tails like a turkey and made such a weird popping noise when they battled.  I mean...did you?  They are awesome.  Haven't you always wanted to know about birds that fly hundreds and thousands of miles.  Seriously...what's up with that?  And also, why can't our parrot take up migrating?  He needs to expand his horizons.  Live a little.  In other words...GET OUT!  Maybe I should open the window and see if he gets an urge.  The guy who is narrating this show sounds a little like Ricardo Montalban.  Remember Fantasy Island? That just adds to the general mystic of the show.  I'm waiting for a "little people" person to run out and point up at the sky and warble "Le Plane, Le Plane" and maybe he would then say, once he saw what he was really eyealling, "Le Arctic Tern, Le Arctic Tern", instead.

Movie Reviews

I was able to watch two very good movies lately, of course at home,  haven't been to the theatre in YEARS. Slumdog Millionaire and 7 pounds. They were right up my alley. I love sad and weird and they definitely had that going for them. I've watched both of them more than once now. I'm kind of crushing on Slumdog right now. So sad and soul wrenching. I highly recommend you go watch these movies. Hopefully YOU can go out and enjoy yourself OR if you are like me...stay home and watch them while you do laundry, vacuum and match socks...well...I haven't matched the socks yet. ugh

We have our first football playoff game on Thursday.  Wednesday is supposed to be snowy.  Good, great, yayyyyy.  No matter.  The boys love to play in "weather".  Getting dirty is all part of the game.  I've learned how to dress in layers and take a blanket and THIS time I'm going to remember to bring good hot black coffee in a Shirley K's Coffee travel mug.  And maybe a little sumthin sumthin in it too.  8)

Fall into Fall, or falling

We've had a hectic few weeks.  Andrew ended up having another knee injury...yes...football related.  He had his knee scope done a day after my Mom had her left hip replaced.

A myriad of work related issues ie  very short on staff at the coffee shop and the surgeries of my Mom and Andrew put me into full over load.  Anyway, they both did well and it's three weeks now since they both got "worked on".  Mom is in her own home and though I stayed with her for a week, she has done well on her own and is gaining strength everyday.  Andrew has recovered quite well and we are just biding time waiting for his rehab to be done.  His senior year, football done.  8(  There are worse things though.  WE know this.  He will be able to wrestle...the hurdles might be a bit tricky, but who knows.  On a nice note...Andrew was the homecoming King.  We thought that was AWESOME!  Especially since he has spent the last 3 homecomings on crutches!

Work has settled a bit, though we are still a bit on the short side.  I'm having to cook a bit more and it's stressful to do that and all the rest of the things that go along with running a business.

We also got Katie moved into a new place and I LOVE IT.  It's an awesome place in the Old Market in Omaha.  She still likes her school very much and she has a GREAT radio voice.  We are proud of her.

We are now the proud parents of a 6 year old toy poodle.  Katie couldn't keep her dog at her new place to guess what?  We are!  He is nice and very easy going.  Petie is kind of pissy about the whole thing but he WILL get over it!

Finally an Update

This summer flew by.

I mean, really flew by.  I can't believe it will be September soon.  The air is cooler already.  We've been invaded by swarms of little brown crickets.  The locust sing non stop...it's deafening around here.  The trees aren't changing...yet.  It's coming though.  Football will start on Friday.  Both boys are playing.  Andrew in his two braces.  Of course I worry.  It wouldn't be right for me to not worry.  I so wish I could be like Mark and not worry about anything.  That would be soooo nice.

Good note.  Katie is back at college.  Not UNO, but Western Iowa Tech.  She is studying something like...Media Studies.  Mostly radio, broadcasting...etc.  SHE LOVES IT!  She sounds so happy.  I'm glad for her.  She and her boyfriend are moving to a place in the old market in Omaha.  That should be fun.  Especially for a young couple.    We are helping them move around September 19th or so.

Work has been okay.  Busy, pretty steady.  We have a minor catastrophe...our Island Oasis Machine broke.  Has been broken for a couple of weeks now.  I finally got something different ordered.  I wish it were here...!!!!  Using a blender does not even compare.

Mom has been having alot of pain in her left hip and we've been doctoring for it awhile now.  Seems she needs a hip replacement.  We will be scheduling that for mid September or so.  We are not looking forward to it.  I know she isn't.  The pain is quite bad though and she can't sleep at night.  We can't put it off much longer.

We got Andrews senior pictures taken.  That was fun.  I saw him smile more in 2 hours than I had in his lifetime!  ha ha  Can't belive he graduates this year.

Well...this is more writing than I've done in a long time.  Tired me out I guess.  Maybe I'll keep updating.  Who knows?

Two Years

Well, two years today, June 14th, Dad died. Of lung cancer. It's hard to believe that so much has happened in such an amount of time. Hard to believe he has been gone that long. Sometimes it seems not that long ago. I try not to think of Dad, as he lay in the hospital bed, trying to breathe. I try not to think of his thin frame and his lack of apetite. I try not to think of the things he had to go through as he slipped into the last few months of his life.
My oldest daughter, only daughter, graduated the same year my Dad died and headed off to college. Two years can change sooo much. I haven't hardly seen my daughter in two years. I can count the times on my one hand. She has dropped out of college and works full time. She asks for no help. She acts like she needs no one. Yet, she needs us for our insurance for sure. She has been in several accidents and cost us several thousands of dollars in car repair. Who cares about college tuition. Try paying court costs and car repair and again and again and again and so forth. Try feeling the anxiety of knowing you have not been a very good parent. That your child does not even want to call or talk to you. You have had your child with you 18 years and then...she is off to other worlds and leaves you without a backward glance. It huts. I can tell you. I wish I could have been a different kind of parent. I wish I could have been what she needed. I don't know what I've done to be excluded from her life but I feel so very sad that what I've done has not been enough. Sometimes I think back and I see the moments I screwed up. I was always stressed out and we didn't have many sleep overs. I worked all the time. I was anxious. I was an impatient mother. I wish I could have been someone she admired and loved and wanted to be in her life. But somehow, I wasn't enough for her. We never talked or shopped together. She never told me about her boyfriends or her hopes or dreams or anything. She was very much a loner child or maybe it was just me she avoided. As an only child I don't think I was a good parent because my experience level was crap!. Katie also had to go immediately after birth into the jaundice lights and I didn't get to feed or hold her for many days. I wonder if our bonding was effected by this?? Anyway, I feel sad on two accounts. Ifeel sad that Dad has been gone 2 years and that in the meantime I've lost my daughter as well....

BRAN minus ONE demented Alias Auntie

Well, the BRAN (bike ride across Nebraska...duh) riders descended into good old Pickleville AKA Cambridge yesterday.  600 (ish)of them.  I was not included in that number.  At All.  Nope...not riding.  My knee won't have it.  The weather was poopy...cool, misty, not my cup of tea.  But still, not riding sucks.

We had an oatmeal buffet for them this morning at the coffee shop.  I have to say we had between 60-80 or even maybe 100 riders in.  I recognize quite a few of them too.  Even though I only rode BRAN twice, I still remember the people.  Most of them are scarred into the little bit of cranial tissue that still functions inside my noggin.  Seems like you become some sort of weird family for that week...and it sticks!  We become "odd" family links...Like some strange mullet headed daughter in law who artificially inseminates pigs, or the nose picking son of an Uncle who works in food service or...that odd couple, she 19 years older than her husband and they are talking about getting pregnant....yah....Bike riders become family.  This is our reunion.  And, I'm not riding.  I'm like the weird demented Auntie that has a house smelling of cabbage and cat piss and even the AVON lady won't visit...only...PEOPLE...I REALY DON'T HAVE A HOUSE THAT SMELLS LIKE CABBAGE AND CAT PISS...it was just an example to CATCH YOUR ATTENTION...did it work?!!

I'm totally demolished.  Ready for bed.  It's only like 11 p m  and I'm ready to hit the hay.  To sleep Mark...not...entertain...sigh...men.

Bite Me! I Mean...Bit Me!

[gallery]

I got bit on the ankle this morning.  No it wasn't a love bite from my hubby.  No, Pissin' Petey wasn't greeting me.  No Pickles didn't claw me.  It might have been a lizard, a snake or a spider.  I can't wait until I have to find out what actually did it.  My ankle is SO DAMN SORE!  I hope it's just a weird allergy to some little harmless spider or something.  Although that grosses me out tremendously.  Not as much as the possibility of the bite coming from a gulp...snake.  aghhhhh

Excerpt of the Stuff of Life

No time to post. Schools now out and baseball season looming. Andrew has 49 scheduled games. Most at least 1-2 hours driving time away. One tourney in another state! South Dakota! Crapola!
That was almost like a haiku.
Anyway, lots been going on. Track, work, lawn care...you know the stuff of life.
I've been using facebook mostly as my graduating class was setting up our 25th reunion. That was last night. What a great time we had. Too much alcohol was consumed. And we didn't get home until 4:30 or 5 a.m. My usual time to get up. Felt weird and good.
I stayed up for awhile after I got home. Unwinding. Went outside. There had been a downpour earlier in the evening and the air was soft and the birds singing and it was beautiful outside. I wished for a newspaper and a steaming cup of coffee. Instead I sat for a moment on our porch and thought about our party and tried to will the remaining alcohol in my bloodstream to waft away. Unfortunately most of it stayed and when I woke up later I had a teeny hangover. Just felt a little drunkish yet. Nothing bad but I bet I'll be tired later.
Well, laundry beckons and the lawn and the dishes and the flowers need watered and the fridge needs cleaned out and I need to vacuum and dust. hmmmm maybe

Horseysauce !

I made fresh horseradish sauce the other day.  It went like this:  I was at the shop making an advert about our upcoming "Naked Donut Day" and "Ugly Donut Day" and "Decorate Your Own Donut Day", when a woman brought in a bag of what looked like dirt and tree roots for me.  I thanked her and then wondered what to do with the mess.  She gave me a recipe that said, 1 cup ground horseradish, 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon salt...mix.  I asked her, "But what do I do with this stuff?" gesturing toward the dirt bag.  She smiled and told me to use a potato peeler and then a blender...after I washed them of course.

really

Okay, so I washed and peeled the roots and when I surmised I had a cup I used the food processor and threw all the ingredients together.

HOLY SCHNIKES!

It's good schtuff maynard.  Will clean out your sinuses within an inch of the jar.

I wonder if there are any other recipes that people have used.

I saved a few roots and am going to plant them.

Pink Moon: I love that!

• Full Pink Moon - April This name came from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names for this month's celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn

Out Like A Lion

March that is. Wind, steady, cold and fiercely growling will serenade us into April. That and my neighbors dog with his odd "beeping" bark. He sounds like he is barking with his nose plugged tightly, 30 feet in a tunnel. Never heard anything like it before. Can't say that now though. Pretty much an hourly occurance.
Mainly I've been working and doing the odd job around the home. Wallpapering my laundry room is proving difficult to finish for some reason. I do have some of my garden tilled. I'm not exactly thrilled that summer is almost here. Dread it in fact. Not my cup of tea. My house will be full of half empty bottles of pop, powerades, dirty plates, socks, shorts, gravelly carpets, candy wrappers, paper plates, dust - you get the picture.
Katie won't be coming home probably. She is ensnared in her job at the big Chuckie cheese Emporium. Mired in. As long as she is happy and paying her own bills I guess who am I to say anything. For that matter, she hardly gives me the time of day to say anything anyway. Whenever she calls or I call she has about 4 seconds of "talking" and then she's "got to go". I'm about SICK of that.
sniff
I'm crabby.
better go before I start ranting about something else...

Anyone try KRAFT CARAMEL JET PUFFED MARSHMALLOWS yet?
Holy Caramel Wet Dreams...it's a WINNER! Alec and I almost demolished a bag ourselves. We are going to make "Scotch a Roos" for our desert at the coffee shop tomorrow with them. GOOD stuff people. Must Try!

Nix Stewie

Talked to Katie.  She couldn't get Stewie becaue he was to much a country dog.  Instead she got...Snickers aka Snookums.  I'll send a picture later.  He is a poodly type doggie.    I'll show a picutre later...when she sends me one.

Stewie

Katie called me yesterday and said she was looking into getting a dog.  She really misses Pissin' Petie and she thinks it is time for a replacement pooch.  I think, hmmmm maybe not a good idea with an apartment but...oh well.  It's not mine.  She said she went to a pet shop a few blocks from her house and "played" with a puppy that was adorable.  The clerk told her that it was a lucky day as the pup was even on sale.  Remember those words.  On sale.  Katie was excited and asked "How much?" thinking $100 or less.  The clerk stated, without blinking, $799.00.  WTF!!????  Seriously?   For  A D O G.  Does this dog have a gold plated ass?  Katie said she about shit.  Needless to say, the pup stayed in the shop and Katie began to do a doggy search online.  She told me she'd e-mailed someone about a 5 year old rescued Jack Russell who's name is...STEWIE!  I love it.  Stewie.  I mean, what an awesome name.  I think it's  a match made in heaven.  I called Katie a couple times to see if she got good old Stewie.  No answer yet.

SWEET BALLS!

I just had a phone call from someone following an ambulance with her spouse inside and SHE helped ME with a little "teenager" problem.  After she told me about her spouse, I told her about my teenager problem.  I thought it might distract her and take her mind off the problems she was facing.   I reassured her, visited with her until she got to the hospital and she reassured me...by telling me about the naughty things she did as a teenager...and laughing at me  ummmm yahhhhhhh  thanks....I think.

In the words taken from one of my new favorite movies HOUSE BUNNY...SWEET BALLS!

Get Home So I Can Go To Bed Hubby!

Mark got called out to fill some meds for someone around 1230 am.  He's been gone for an hour or so.  He said the ER had several patients lined up so it would be awhile.  However...I won't go to bed until he is home.  I just worry.  So...I wait.  I'm watching a show I TIVO'd...sort of and also reading some blogs.  I played word scrabble on facebook.  I chew my nails while doing it all and I think about drinking wine or something and then I don't...cuz I already did at like 8pm and it's like whiskey oclock now and I don't think we have Cola or I would have one.  damn

The show I'm watching is depressing.  So of course I love it.  It's also subtitled.  I love that.  The lanquage is African but I don't know what dialect.

Mark's home!

Night night!

Good Thing I Cleaned The Toilet

I'm home from the shop.  Alec called me and said he had a terrible headhache and so of course I came home to check on him.  He was almost writhing witht he pain.  Unusual for him.  I checked him for a fever, slight, gave him Motrin, got him a blankie, cleaned the toilet....and waitied.  About 10 minutes after I was there he loped into the toidy and hurled.  I came up behind him with a wet washcloth after he was done and then he gagged and sneezed and coughed and sneezed and both of us got to laughing and I asked "What next?  Shit your pants?".  We roared at that.  I know, we are weird. Anyway, I'm just watching him sleep and waiting.  I don't know what for.  I always worry when he has a pain.  I mean I do with all the kids it's just that with him I always think of when he had those tumors removed from his leg and...I don't know...I always think he has something worse than he does.  It's my damn nature.  Pathetic.  I wish I wasn't this way but I can't help it.

Sham Wow vrs Toilet...Update

I've heard nothing from the principal...yet.  Sham Wow or otherwise.

Cross your fingers. Say a prayer.  Buy a Sham Wow. . . cuz they suck...up water that is.  Or whatever else kind of spill you might have.  At least 3 cups worth.  Joy!

February 23, 2009

Wowed and Sham Wowed and just plain BOGGLED!

First the "Wow!"
My son Alec did not win his matches to advance at the state tournament. However, in his defense I must say. He was the only freshman in his weight class. He had the least experience. The first match was won by a returning state champion(each year at a different weight class) who is going to wrestle at UNL. Alec was folded up like a letter and stuffed into an envelope. The second match was won by a sophmore that shot first and kept Alec on the defensive. Still, he made us proud! He "Wowed" us anyway with his determination to qualify for State. He improved daily. He never gave up. He always worked hard. He was determined to learn more and take away all he could with his experiences. He has goals that are realistic and attainable. Next year Alec will be ready for the big show. But even if he doesn't win a match...he will always "Wow" us.
Now for the Sham Wow AND the Boggled part.
The boys went up to the boys basketball game in McCook tonight. Mom and I spent the time working on Word Boggle. My mom cheating all along the way. I, making up words that I liked the sound or appearance of. We did not refer to a dictionary. This was "light hearted boggle" not manic boggle. About a half hour or so after the boys lost their ball game my boys rushed in excitedly with Andrew in the lead shouting, "Look what I got!", "Look what I got!". He held out a mashed cardboard box. It was labeled SHAM WOW. Good grief, my son wasted money on a damn Sham Wow! Of course we had to test the thing out. We found out the large orange colored "Sham" will suck up 3 cups of water instantly! It was cool. They loved it. They are both going to take one to school and use them for God only know what all. Probably to suck up all the water from the toilet. ugh...the mind BOGGLES!
I am expecting a phone call from the principal tomorrow.
I'll let you know!

Get Over Here Now!

Tomorrow is a big day.  First, donuts, coffee, the usual Free Loader Friday thing at the shop.  Then it's off to North Platte for wrestling districts.  The matches start around 5:30 tomorrow night then continue Saturday.  The boys leave around 10:30 tomorrow.  It's a 1 1/2 hour trip for most.  Mark usually makes in 1 hour.  Speed is his friend.   One bad thing going on...the weather.  There is a BIG ASS PREDICTION hear the scary music?  that we will be smashed with a 9 inch snow storm.  Yes, I said 9 and inch and SNOW...not HOE...keep your mind out of the gutter people!  Soooo it's going to be fun.  I still haven't found anyone to "sit" with Petie.  I mean, he tends to bark and bite at all people right before he pisses on their unsuspecting coat.  But only if they don't hang their coat up.  So, I guess that might be called fair game.  Right?  Do you want to house sit Pissin' Petie?  If so...let me know right away.  I have chicken and noodles and mac and cheese and other  old  foodstuffs in my fridge, Irish Cream, stale kettle chips, 2 beers, a big screen TV....not totally "Big" as in "BIG" but still...it's a nice sized one...and and a mewling Cat and a Pissin Dog.    Any takers?  Going One...Going Twice...SOLD...TO YOU!

Letter To Toe Jeter...I mean Jo Teter

HI TOE,

How are you? I am fine. I have been busy. Are you busy? How are the horses? Do they like the cold weather? I do not like cold weather. My dog is fine. My cat threw up yesterday but I think she is just bulimic. So she needs therapy. Other than that she is fine. My animals do not have fleas. Someone I know has a cat that had fleas so badly she DIED. The cat, not the person that owned the cat. I guess the vet had to put her "down" so that means she was killed by fleas. Do your horses get fleas? Have you ever had fleas? I know someone who had a cow that had warts in it's ears as big as a fist. They cut them out and it was gross. I told that person to please let me know if they ever had a warty cow again because I would LOVE to see a wart as big as a fist get sliced out of a cows ear. They haven't called me yet. I hope they do. That sounded TOTALLY SICK to me. If you ever get a wart as big as a fist I hope you give me a jingle. I could watch someone cut it out or I could try to cut it out. That would be awesome. Well, I gotta go now. I thought I would see if you are going to be in North Platte on Valentines weekend. District wrestling is there and a bunch of us are going to spend the night there and eat crab legs until we are sick and make a general mess at a place and get plastered. Consider this your invite to get "faced". You can bring a friend. We don't mind at all. Friday the 13th...if you aren't too scared. Slats, L Fart and Me so far will be there. So will the significant others...but you don't have to bring yours unless you have to. Can your daughter drive yet? If so, please bring her as well. We might need a driver. Well, better go and make a donut. Lurve, yur frend

Bawl Baby Crippled Ass

Okay...today I had a day off in like...I don't know...a long time.  A day where I could sleep in, stay home and clean house, watch TV, get groceries, make a nice supper, vacuum...whatever.  It was strange.  Sadly, my back was totally screwed, my knee was freaking squeaking and I had a nice caffeine withdrawal headache.  As the day went on, my headache got worse.  I even took medicine.  yah...you know it's bad if I take medicine.  Soooo....I moved all the furniture in the living room and vacuumed and dusted while I watched a movie I'd never seen before.  Freedom Writers.  And guess what?  I CRIED.  geeze....my hormones must be totally out of whack.  God.  Crying over a movie.  Next thing you know I'll be crying over a commercial.  yuck  I also...took a 2 hour nap.  I slept in the recliner downstairs last night and I will be sleeping there tonight.  My back is totally screwed up.  Our bed is NOT GOOD FOR MY BACK.  The only place I've ever slept and slept well and never ever woke up with a back ache is EMBASSY SUITES.  Their mattresses are from THE DENVER MATTRESS COMPANY.  I am THIS close to just googling them and ordering a new bed online.  I mean seriously...it will be worth it.  I hate to think of having to get up and go to work tommorow.  I dont' know if I can.  DUHHHH!!  I have to.

shit...sometimes it SUPER SUCKS TO BE THE BOSSS.

Lately I feel older.  Aging and not gracefully.  I take my bath and rub baby lotion into my drying skin.  I may rub Vicks into my dry feet and put on soft, cotton socks.  The vicks a "known" cure for "coughing in the night" sending up wafts of old age along with the soft unsexual scent of baby lotion.  I see my hair, graying, fraying, the eye brows growing cockeyed and rough, the lines spreading across my face, my body, and then there is the ever present softness of my body.  My back aches in the night.  I get up at 4:30 am to go and sit in the recliner downstairs.  There I "rest" and wait until it's time to get up and make the donuts.  If I stay in bed my back hurst SEVERLY and it's just not worth it.  I feel my stamina dwindling and the urge to nap/sleep/rest increasing.  I may have to make a new rule in our house.  The boys may have to wake me when they get home.  I may have to give up the watch as my extreme sleepiness takes over.  I may choose to ignore the giggling of girlfriends and the laser breath of the drunk, the crackling of potato chip bags and the scent of dirty socks.  I'm heading down the path of hard of hearing and slightly blind.

The clock seems to be going double time.  I can see myself older, grayer and yet I don't see myself as a "grandparent" even though that is what I want...eventually.  I almost feel my death arriving before this happens.  I'm afraid I have my Dad's genes. His family mostly died young.  I suppose I will be the same.  Maybe I'm on borrowed time already.  whatever...what will be will be....

Oh Mighty MantyHose...Shazaaaam!

[caption id="attachment_1774" align="alignnone" width="400" caption="Oh Mighty Mantyhose"]Oh Mighty Mantyhose[/caption]

I found this article about male pantyhose and was a bit in awe.  The picture alone is worth a second glance or two.  My boys wear under armour "shorts" instead of the famous ass baring jocks that the boys wore in "my day" but I don't really know if they would wear these.  I'm going to ask them soon.  In fact, maybe I'll ask them at the wrestling match this morning.   They may really really want to visit with me about male hose while at a testosterone strewn gym.  grin  Okay Okay I probably won't do it.  I do care for my boys safety.

I've been posting some on face-book only for the reason that I love to play word scramble.  So, not much posting here at all.  Things are okay.  Andrew has started wrestling.  ACL and all.  This will be his second meet.  He is having to lose weight and Alec is having to gain weight.  Supper time here is a BITCH!  Mostly everybody is in a bad mood.  Alec sometimes oblivious to the gaunt cheeks of his older brother eats 3 or 4 peanut butter sandwiches as an hors de'vours and Andrew has one celery stick on his plate.  I hate it.  Both boys now have girl friends.  Yes, my 14 soon to be 15 has a cute little girlie.  AGHHH  I've given the keep the pickle in the pocket talk again.  Much to his dismay and extreme embarrassment.   ha HA  I must get my kicks anyway I can.  Well, gotta go nap a little before the 1 hour trek to the all day wrestling meet.
